What is IBM User Group Days?
On May 19 and 20, IBM is hosting several tracks of great sessions. Some of these come out of content that would have happened at THINK, and others are collaborations with the user groups from various technologies. What this means, is that for free, you can get the more technical content of some conferences or user group meetings for free!
The Db2 track is on May 19. Check out the full agenda. I’ll be listening along to the other sessions in the Db2 track.
8:00 AM Mountain Time, 10:00 AM Eastern Time.
Db2 Inception: Learning about Db2, and Sharing Your Knowledge in the Db2 Community
From interpreting error messages and tips for navigating the Db2 documentation to blogging and sharing what you’ve learned, this session is a great introduction for those new to Db2 or for those looking to up their game in contributing content. Come hear from the lead author of datageek.blog, formerly db2commerce.com a wealth of ideas on how to understand and be understood in the Db2 community.
That’s the formal description. While it is directed at those newer to the Db2 community, there are tidbits there for everyone. In the last half of the presentation, I’ll talk in detail about my experiences blogging, and how I’ve managed to be a consistent contributor in the Db2 community across three different jobs over the course of 10 years. I am really excited to share this with you!
Register ahead of time for free, using your IBM ID.
A few other tidbits about the event – Once you’ve registered go to the agenda, and click on “Interviews”. This will allow you to schedule 1:1 meetings with your favorite speakers if you want to ask in-depth questions or have a conversation.
I don’t yet know if/how replays will be available, but will update this blog entry when I have that information.
